Operation Typhoon was the final attack the Germans launched at the end of 1941 in a desperate attempt to capture Moscow. When their offense ground to a halt, the Germans assumed the Soviets had run out of reserves – but they were wrong.

From designers Frank Chadwick and Lance McMillan, this expansion kit for Battle for Moscow allows players to extend the original, solitaire BattLessonTM game to early March 1942, when the spring thaw turned the countryside into a quagmire and brought the Soviet winter offensive to an end.

Note: This expansion kit is not a "stand alone" game. You must own a copy of Battle for Moscow to use it.

v1.1 Erratum:

The Winter Counteroffensive scenario's victory conditions have been simplified:

[5.1] The Winter Counteroffensive scenario (see 6.0) is won as follows:
• The Russian Player wins if he controls Moscow and has 6 or more cities on the map at the end of the game.
• The German Player wins if he controls Moscow and it is "in Communication" (see 10.0) -OR- if, at the end of the game, he controls any six cities (including Moscow if it is not "in Communication").
• Any other result is a Draw.

Optional: For victory purposes (only), City control counts only if there is a friendly unit in that hex (i.e., a "garrison") when the game ends.
