Play Time:
60 minutes
As an internationally renowned expedition leader, you are anxious to gain prestige by leading a group of high profile climbers from your country to the top of the most difficult peak in the world, K2. While some of the climbers have been selected for their climbing abilities, others have been assigned to your team for various political reasons. Certainly if you can accomplish this feat, your name will go down as one of the greatest expedition leaders of all time and your fame and fortune will be assured.

Each turn, you will move climbers up toward the summit as quickly as possible and then back down again. However, at some point in the game, the deadly avalanche will collapse upon the Bottleneck, changing the rules drastically and forcing you to creatively find a way for your climbers to get back down before nightfall…or risk having them stranded in the "Death Zone" (8000m above sea level) overnight.

Play solitaire or compete against another player to lead your climbers to the summit of K2 and back down safely. Or take on the challenge of climbing both Everest and K2 in the campaign game by adding VPG's Disaster on Everest.

Your decisions will determine if you can survive the Disaster on K2!

Because it's There by Elliott Miller (The Gaming Gang)
Disaster on K2 is challenging. The theme shines through, at no time did I think I was doing anything else than trying to scale this mountain. The challenge keeps pushing me on to play again with different strategies. ... After you learn how to play, the game moves quickly and you can finish a single game in less than 45 minutes. So far, the best I’ve been able to manage is 17 points, which is terrible. Dead climbers cost you negative points and mine seem to leap off of the mountain at every chance they get. (8.2/10)
