I'm kind of the office JOAT (Jack of all trades) with my background is in engineering and an Art degree. I spent six years as a Mechanic in the US Navy, serving on board the USS Rhode Island - Blue Crew (a Ballistic Nuclear Submarine) out of Kings Bay, Georgia for a good portion of that. And after that I went to the Art Institute of California - Orange County.

I'm an engineer first and as such, my design approach is mechanic oriented rather than theme oriented. I really like abstraction. The way I see it if a game is fun without any theme then it can only get better when the theme is added in. That is not to say that the theme will not affect the mechanics of my games. But those decisions are usually made after I have a good theme free engine going.
